Sustainable Wairarapa Incorporated is a charitable society that encourages individuals, businesses, local and regional authorities, and other organisations in the Wairarapa to foster and adopt the principles of sustainability.
In the 2026 grant funding round WBS Charitable Trust awarded $2000 to Sustainable Wairarapa's pekapeka | long-tailed bat monitoring programme for new AR5 monitors. These monitors are super sensitive for detecting pekapeka movement! The pekapeka monitorsing group of Sustainable Wairarapa is looking to expand its activities, so more AR5 monitors is a great start.
